Corus Health strives to provide excellent care for all of our patients and to be the service provider that delivers a level of service patients didn’t know even existed. We do that by serving as a “hospital without walls.” We can treat a patient in their own home where studies have shown they can recover faster and more fully, living independent, better quality lives so that they don’t have to be admitted to the hospital again.
For all of the elements that distinguish us in the industry, our patients and their families say it best. Here we share some of the stories those individuals have brought to us:
“My dad was in hospice care for 7 months with CORUS. His nurse Katrina was exceptional, patient and compassionate towards all our family members and gave dad wonderful care the last days of his life. His bather Jodie was equally exceptional and our social worker Lori too. Everyone we encountered were angels.”

“Beyond our expectations. The entire team took very good care of our families transition while loosing the glue to our family, our beautiful Mother. RN-Katrina – Her attentive, genuine, caring and kindness is something none of us will ever forget. RT-Sharone – So easy to work with and really couldn’t have done it without her endless help in the most complicated times. But both where the biggest help in all aspects! Our family is eternally grateful.”

“I appreciate the experience very much. Josette helped start our experience. She was kind, compassionate, and very patient with my many questions as this is difficult to navigate. Although she needed to hand off the intake, she called the next day to make sure I was satisfied with the way things progress. I was. Jim came out at 545pm to ensure the process was expedited quickly as my mother was a timely issue. The next day my mother and her medical equipment arrived on time. Rusty, the nurse assigned to evaluate my mother was not only on time, but equally kind, compassionate, and patient. You guys sure understand the needs of a suffering family with a dying mother. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING. Since I posted the first part of the review, I was able to experience Angela, Mila, Mark, Thea, Andrea, Desiree, and Lori. You are all a class act and I appreciate each and everyone of you. Thank you again for helping a very difficult situation be a little easier to navigate.”

“First, let me explain the 4 stars instead of 5. No one business or person is perfect (in my eyes & the eyes of my creator) & a 5-star rating is an indicator of a perfect business. There’s ALWAYS opportunity for growth in all of us & if we’re not growing than we become complacent. That isn’t good either. So, I’m giving Corus Health 4 stars.
That being said, our past & present experience with this business has been impeccable. Kim, the intake nurse, is such a warm, inviting & genuine person and has a way of really connecting with her patients. That has been a very welcomed trait and I appreciate her beyond words. Aaron, the lead physical therapist is top notch. He has this amazing way of connecting & communicating with his patients regardless of their socio-economic status. Trisha is the occupational therapist and she’s definitely one-of-a-kind. Her determination to help her patients have a successful outcome is outstanding. Robbyn is the speech therapist and has been a wonderful asset to my husband’s team of therapists. Her knowledge and bedside manner are simply amazing. Laura is the home healthcare aide and does an awesome job caring for my husband’s bath needs. She goes by the book and engages him in conversation to make him more comfortable. She’s probably the one he’s connected with the most. The administrative team has gone above and beyond for us as well – Cassandra on the clinical side and Jim on the Hospice side. I know that I can pick up the phone to any one of them and they will handle matters for me.”

“Realizing that your loved one is near the end of their life and the kind of care that requires the love from home and the medical needs of hospital, means you need someone with the best experience possible to lead you through these steps. Not only was Jim Myers from Corus Health organized and knowledgable, he was compassionate and patient with the abundance of questions we had concerning our loved ones health and home care set up. Jim expediently put into action all things that were required to bring our loved on home prepared for care and comfort. The nurse that came that night after we were all settled in was a bright and honest man who kindly met with us all and administered a checkup and care, confirming that we were in the most capable of hands. Thank you to Corus Health for coming along side our family as we care for our special loved one. We are so very appreciative.”

“The most caring and kind medical providers I’ve ever met! They listened to my dad’s questions and took the time to explain things in a way he could understand.”

“The second my mom signed up for care through CORUS, the level of care was outstanding! This was a hard decision for my mom to make but when she was ready, she absolutely had nothing but comfort and happiness in the level of care she received. From the intake nurse Rusty, to home health aide Irene Rodriguez, everyone was great and we have nothing but positive things to say. Mom’s nurse Katrina and RT Sharone (sorry if I misspelled it) went above and beyond what we would have ever expected, to help provide comfort not only physically but emotionally. Mom looked forward to her weekly visits and talked about them often. Katrina and Sharone listened to mom’s frustrations due to the pain she experienced towards the end, always reminded mom that she had options to comfort her, and most of all were always available for texts/calls if we had questions or concerns.
Mom was fully aware of what was going on up until the last 24 to 36 hours of her life and am confident I’m giving her team the recognition they deserve. On behalf of my father, brother and myself, we will be forever grateful for everything CORUS did for my mother during her time on hospice. It was the best decision that my mom and family made.”

“I wish I’d known more about Hospice Care earlier. The team at Corus Health has made everything so much better for everyone in- volved. I know my dad is being properly cared for and I’m able to start resuming the role of son versus caregiver. I’ve been sharing my new found knowledge with many who care for those with Parkinson’s. Thank you Corus Health for giving us some quality of life back!”

“You have done an extraordinary job during extraordinary times, assisting my Mother (while being diligent to COVID precautions as one of the very few allowed visitors) to regain her ability to ambulate! Wow. We could not have imagined a better outcome. We know that this was a very difficult and uphill battle she faced. Thanks to you, Corus Health colleagues here copied, and the Retreat team, for the seamless collaboration making it possible for Mother to walk again (with her walker). She has been a life-long hiker, hiking several 14,000 footers with Dad during their marriage, and it’s been one of her great joys. I’ve attached a few photos (a bit large, I know, but best I could do), to give you a sense of her and our family with Dad, to give you a sense of her and her life, perhaps a bit more broadly than you experienced her. Her spirit and understanding is quite intact, so thank you for making more “life giving” moments possible for her. Her newer family at the Retreat make all things possible for her, along with experts like you bringing her your experience and believing in her and others like her.
I know many of your clients can’t communicate their appreciation as such, so please know this note represents many of them, no doubt, as Mother would want her experience and feedback to do.”
Our home was built in 2014, it has numerous features that meet ADA Standards (ramps, assist bars in bathrooms, easy access for wheelchairs and showers, wide doors, hard wood and tile floors, no facilities or carpets that would cause one to trip). The therapists were impressed with the facilities.
The staff was very professional, PT/OT/ST all excellent. I can’t speak enough about the skill and care of the staff, it helped me through a stroke.
All the home care agents were very courteous, respectable and were very concerned about my health. I am very happy about all the care that I got.
Thank you to all who cared for my father in the time of his need. Everyone was so kind and so helpful. If we are ever in need again, Corus Health is who I would contact.
Great job Nick, Marissa and Andrea Thank you for everything!
My physical therapist Joy C. was friendly, caring and professional. She managed to make each therapy session valuable without making it seem too difficult. I actually look forward to her visits, even though I knew I would have to put forth some exertion. She helped me get back to my normal routine.
My husband has dementia and has recently had a stroke. He is 80 years old. Corus Health is responsible for helping us to adjust to home life after his stroke, as he had been in rehab for two weeks after his stroke. Their staff are so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I could not have made the adjustment in his care without them. My husband and I always looked forward to their visits.
After being discharged from the hospital and rehab facility from pneumonia, fluid in the lungs and scarring, my daughter who is my attorney and guardian made all the necessary arrangements for Corus Health care to continue the therapies that the rehab facility instituted. There was a nurse who assessed whatever I needed. There were two PT and OT highly qualified professionals to continue the therapies. Their names are Marisa Gillispe and the other one I don’t quite remember. But any of these two PT and OT are ultimate professionals, very compassionate.
Rylee, PTA was very good. Explained treatment thoroughly.
All employees are great, Christine OT is the best.
Barbara E. provided me with the absolute best care possible. I have been blessed to have her help me recover from all my surgeries, illnesses and injuries. She is a true professional and a very caring and helpful person. She goes out of her way to ensure patients are taken care of. I am extremely thankful to have her in my life. It’s much better with her in it, I can’t say enough!
All the staff at Corus Health have been great. I was really blessed to have them taking care of me. Their help is and will always be appreciated. To all your wonderful staff, thank you!
All my therapists and nurses were very patient with me. They reviewed vitals and medicines each visit. They did the exercises along side of me to show the correct method. Thank you, blessings.
Nick Abeyta was my PT and he was excellent. I have had 2 others from other agencies and he was more knowledgeable and helped me more. If I need more PT, I would request him.
The greatest home care ever. They all have become friends and family. I wish I could adopt them all.
Both my nurse and my physical therapist were exceptionally capable women. I made rapid recovery during the time they came to my house. They were both efficient and fun. They did much for my morale, especially during their early visits when I needed encouragement, although I did not anticipate their efforts. I am very grateful to them and Corus Health.
Hospice was a wonderful choice we made. I couldn’t have cared for Guadalupe at home without Hospice. I knew what to expect because everything was explained to me. Thank you all so very much.
Everyone was so amazingly helpful. So caring and thoughtful. Everyone made it peaceful and exactly what she wanted. They were very kind to me and my family as well.
I think back when your people helped me with my wife. God bless you and thank you.
I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the care and comfort my mother received during her care. The staff was amazing and they made her feel comfortable. Patients just want to be heard, and that is exactly what you did. Everyone who came to see my mom was amazing and had compassion for my mom and she felt like they really cared for her. It made things easier for my mom who was suffering from C.O.P.D. My mom unfortunately lost her battle but I am grateful for Corus Health was there to make her feel comfortable in her time of need. She wanted to be home when she passed and they made it possible for her to pass away in the comfort of her own home without her having to go to the hospital, which meant a lot to her. Corus Health was the best decision for my mom, the staff was respectable, loving, caring and understanding. All of that was new to my mom and I. In the beginning, we were both worried about the situation, but soon after we were happy we made the decision to allow Corus Health into our home. Losing a loved one is hard, but when you have a caring staff it makes things a little easier.
I would like to recommend Corus Health’s COPD program. My mother was accepted into Corus Health’s COPD program in spring of 2016. She was having more frequent serious complications from her COPD and although the medical care she was receiving from Presbyterian was of good quality she did not wish to be hospitalized again.
My mother was evaluated for the COPD program by Sabrina a respiratory therapist for Corus Health. Sabrina was professional, informative and most importantly caring and personable. My mother was accepted into the program. Corus Health quickly supplied us with emergency medications, home medical equipment, oxygen, and an emergency alert button. I moved in with my mother to help care for her after her last hospitalization. Even though I was in the house the alert button came in handy on many occasions. My mother didn’t have to think just push a button and she could get assistance without losing her hospice status.
The most important aspect of Corus Health’s service is the personal attention given to patients. My mother got to know many of the staff and enjoyed talking to them when they came to check on her. To her they were more than just caretakers and medical personnel, they were friends. I found the staff to be kind, attentive and caring. When she became ill in January 2017 we called upon them multiple times to help us make her more comfortable. The staff responded and was able to make her more comfortable. My mother passed away in February 2017. I feel that with my help and Corus Health’s care her last year with us was a good one.
I would like to thank the entire Corus Health Team for the excellent care they provided for my sister Linda F. The entire staff was very helpful in all aspects. I would like give a special thanks to Respiratory Team in the care they provided, Sabrina went over and beyond the call of duty to ensure that Linda was receiving the absolute best care at her time of need.
